BYBC 2016

Build Your Blog Conference was such a blast this year!  Thanks to all of you who posted about your experience, we LOVED reading through them and seeing the conference through your eyes!  We wanted to share a little sampling of some of the fun posts we’ve been seeing.  Keep them coming guys!

“I just came back from the Build Your Blog Conference in Salt Lake City.  My weekend was amazing, to say the least.  However, this conference was more than a weekend.  Six weeks prior to the conference, pre-conference webinars started.  These webinars taught me how to promote more effectively, how to entice more people to my email list and how to sell.”

-JoAnn from A Whimsicle Life

“If there’s a blog conference anywhere you can get to, I definitely recommend BYBC. Even if you don’t make it to a single class, just the “sitting around the hotel talking shop” part is more useful information than you’ll get from the interwebs in a year.”

-Adrian from Adrian’s Crazy Life

I attended my very first blogging conference over the weekend in Salt Lake City and I really don’t think I could have possibly had a better experience. From loads of fun, new adventures and meeting some of the most down to earth people outside of the conference, to being surrounded by some of the most genuine, compassionate and goal oriented people inside the conference, the connections alone were worth it! And then to be a newbie in a room full of people who have really made it in the blogsphere, but still embrace you for your strengths as an individual and help you play to those when giving you advice and ideas is incredibly powerful and beyond inspiring. Just to be able to see how many people have a passion for sharing a part of themselves with their audience put the entire blogger community into perspective for me. I have to say, I might be in love with all of this and BYBC may have my heart. 😍 To the folks at The Blogger Network, thank you for working so hard to put this on and for caring about this community of bloggers as much as you do. I am more than impressed and so thankful for this opportunity and everything it entailed

I have been blogging since 2007 (which pretty much makes me a blogging grandma or something) and I was completely stuck in my routine of how I always did everything. I didn’t know any other way! I was making pretty decent money (or so I thought…hey! I made more than my husband last year!) but I always felt like I wasn’t making progress. I couldn’t ever meet my traffic goals even though EVERY time I asked bloggers within my network what they did or recommended I do they’d always say things I had been doing forever. I was so frustrated and felt STUCK. The webinars resonated with me, but there were also a lot of things that scared me or made me feel uncomfortable. Just a handful of days ago, I was talking with Emily Stubblefield Buys about the fact that I had NO idea what I could offer of value that people might eventually PAY for. I felt discouraged. I knew where I wanted to be, but I felt like I had no real expertise. I felt like this didn’t fit ME, even though I wanted it to. Within an hour of having our initial conversation, I had written down at least 6 different ebooks that I could sell. The next morning, I had compiled my first free ebook to offer subscribers. (That was 4 days ago, and it has been downloaded over 100 times). So I just want to remind everyone that even if you feel discouraged or overwhelmed, or like what you’re learning doesn’t fit with your style of blogging, remember that you DO have something of value to offer people! Find your personal style within the system. And then….take it one step at a time. Another issue I’ve had is wanting to make ALL the changes at once. I’ve gotten frustrated because I don’t have everything set up the way I want it to be yet, but everyday is a step forward and I can already see the progress I’m making. And it’s only been a little over a week for me!  This journey with BYBC and now Blogger Revolution has made me see blogging in a whole new light. I’ve been to many blog conferences over the years, but I’ve never felt such a renewal of purpose and HOPE as I have since BYBC. The pre-conference training was incredible, and even though I wasn’t there live, I am so grateful that I can watch the recorded classes at home. What an incredible resource!
